She Says

The Proposal

So here’s my version of how it happened… :)

Prelude:

Most of you know that we initially planned to get married way back in early 2007…
there was no formal proposal then, just an informal announcement to our friends over drinks that we were getting hitched. Some of you know how that turned out :P we broke up for a few months… then got back together in late 2007 …

What I didn’t know then was that Arn already had a ring for over 2 years. He was just waiting for I don’t know what to pop the question!

In hindsight, knowing what I know now, Im glad we waited.

And the formal proposal was actually worth the wait! So guys, this time, seryoso na kami!!! This is it!

Oct 13, 2009 – The Day!

I was on vacation when Arn was planning this major production number for me on my arrival. I arrived with my siblings from SFO at 3:30am and actually got out of the baggage terminal around 5am :D

From where I stood as I walked out of the airport terminal, I just saw Arn with a signboard with my name written on it. Honestly, ang unang naisip ko, “Baliw talga to si Arn. Para kong turista may pa signboard signboard pa”.

Knowing I had poor eyesight, Arn waited til I was mga 2 or 3 feet away until he flipped the sign to show what was written on the other side of the board —- “Will you marry me? :P”  (see photo with my niece carrying it)

It happened so fast and my initial reaction was to hug him and ask while I was crying “seryoso ka ba???”  Then our friends, my mom, my Ate popped from nowhere taking photos and videos while we were all laughing and crying na in the middle of the airport.

So there… I’d like to say Arn did a pretty good job surprising me. I absolutely had NO CLUE he was gonna do this for me! :D Now we’re planning the wedding for Feb in my hometown, Davao!

I am thanking you guys in advance, especially to those who will be travelling to be with us on our special day. Your presence would be the best gift you can give us on our wedding. See you and let’s have fun at the party! :)

Activities

For Beach Lovers!

We are arranging a beach trip for Sunday, probably (9am - 3pm) as most of you are leaving Sunday night. We will be going to Chemas. Let us know if you want to go and how many you are para we can try to make arrangements.:) Better if you give us your flight details too. :) If you want to stay overnight, rates below, let me know din if you plan to do so.

For day trips we recommend:

Paradise Island
Location: Limao, Samal

To get there: Just tell your taxi driver to take you to Paradise’ Docking station in Sasa (this is near the airport). Once there, pump boats are available from 5am to 5pm going to and from the resort. The boat ride is less than 10 minutes. Entrance is P100/person. No need to make reservations for day trips.

You can actually easily do this on your own. Taxis frequent the docking station so you wont have a hard time going back to your hotel. You can even just have lunch in the island then go back to the city after lunch. The resort is nothing fancy, but it’s a decent beach.

Here’s their website: http://www.paradiseislanddavao.com/

Chemas Garden Resort

Once there, ask the guard where the dock is for Chemas.

Do a daytrip to Eden Nature Park. It’s Davao’s small version of Tagaytay. They have daytrip packages inclusive of buffet lunch. You can also arrange for pick up at the hotel as this is quite far from the city by taxi (approx 1 hour). Contact the resort for arrangements.

You can also try to make special arrangements with a cab. It’s reasonable if you’re at least 3-5 pax, fare would probably be P600 pesos one way or you can haggle for P1000 roundtrip rate. Just set a pick up time from the park.)
